Description
The Application Developer II is responsible for delivering well-crafted software solutions that create measurable value for the business. The Developer II is expected to contribute meaningfully to team projects, grow their technical skills and domain knowledge, and consistently produce quality code that meets team standards. This role works within the development team to build and maintain enterprise-level applications, participating in architectural discussions and code reviews while developing the judgment and expertise needed to take on greater technical responsibility over time.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of new and existing software applications to support company goals.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and technical design reviews, learning from senior team members while offering input.
  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code following team standards and modern design principles.
  • Participate in code reviews and pair programming, supporting teammates and learning from senior developers.
  • Actively engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work with business stakeholders and senior developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrate solid troubleshooting and debugging skills, escalating complex issues when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure development work aligns with business priorities.
  • Follow best practices in version control, release cycle management, and documentation.
  • Suggest improvements to development processes and tools as you identify opportunities.
  • Represent the development team with professionalism and clear communication in end-user interactions.
  • Grow your understanding of the retail marketplace and how technology solutions support Harvest Group’s clients and internal operations.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional experience designing and implementing software to solve business problems.
  • Proficiency in C#, JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML, and CSS.
  • Working knowledge of data structures and familiarity with common software design patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile/Scrum development.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Track record of delivering projects on time and in full.
Preferred
  • Experience with RESTful service architecture and web application patterns.
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized application concepts.
  • Experience with Entity Framework, serverless functions, and microservices.
  • Test/Behavior Driven Development experience.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar.
