Job description

OVERVIEW

The National Retail Organization (NRO) is seeking a Retail Trade Planning Lead (TPL) focused on Walmart (WM) Pet Retail Execution to provide the NRO, Pet Retail Excellence team, and Walmart Pet customer selling teams with retail execution planning, business analytics, and systems support to advance General Mill’s partnership with Walmart and Pet. In this newly created role, you will partner with the Pet Retail Excellence team, along with the Walmart Pet Customer team, on end-to-end execution. You will lead a standardized, integrated process for planning and development that delivers executional excellence to Walmart Pet Customer team plans using data led processes and decision making. This role works with and through others to achieve results. You will work closely with the Business Development team, Retail Managers, Pet Retail Excellence Team, Walmart Customer team, Category Management, and Customer Marketing along with other cross-functional partners.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE 

  • Leads a standardized, integrated process for the planning, development and execution of WM SSRs across WM Pet Customer Team.
    • Technical set-up of events in Salesforce
  • Partners with the WM Pet Customer Team to develop offers that maximize multiple inputs to drive selling effectiveness:
    • Leverages sell through data (Cat Mgmt. source) early in process
    • Data led SKU mix and shipper/offer configurations
    • Satisfies Walmart in store requirements: i.e. pallet heights to reach WM pricing signage, etc.
    • Sets Retail Selling Goals for Selling Initiatives at the Retail Sales Representative level that rolls up to the Retail Manager Team. 
  • Consults with the Pet Retail Excellence team and WM Pet Customer Team to develop effective and impactful offer selling materials in partnership with the Walmart Pet customer team.
  • Partners with key NRO stakeholders to drive alignment and visibility to goals, debrief results and apply key learnings.
    • Work to analyze and debrief key selling windows utilizing retail execution and performance data from Salesforce, e2Open, Tableau and retail syndicated data from Luminate/Scintilla and Nielsen.
    • Analyze geographic business trends to develop store/market/regional selling opportunities
  • Answer/resolve NRO field stakeholder questions and store challenges in a timely manner
  • Lead the NRO Retail Execution, Systems, Planning, and Reporting for Pet New Items, and UPC Conversions.
  • Deliver clear and streamlined communication at all levels to drive seamless planning and execution.
  • Partners with the Pet Retail Excellence team on POS Display Materials for NRO in-store display execution

PROBLEM SOLVING, DATA & ANALYTICS

  • In partnership with the Pet Retail Excellence team, gather and analyze syndicated data (e.g., from Nielsen, NRO, consumers and/or customers) to identify opportunities to drive sales growth through implementation of retail strategies 
  • Lead development of analytics and reporting to support cadence of accountability in partnership with NRO Business Development Team and the Pet Retail Excellence team
  • In partnership with the Pet Retail Excellence team, responsible for post-execution analytics and communicating key learnings across all stakeholders
  • Walmart Display Compliance Reporting and Analytics (internal NRO reporting)
  • Maintain data integrity within NRO specific data sets, and resolve any issues
  • Be highly proficient with data systems and analyzing, organizing, and formatting reports
  • System responsibilities include e2open, Salesforce CG Cloud back-office

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience in sales, account management, trade funding, category management or other relevant experience
  • Successful demonstration of analytical skills using various data sources (e.g., NRO, Nielsen, IRI, customer and/or consumer data)
  • Must be proficient in software packages (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Cross functional stakeholder management
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced, ambiguous and changing environment
  • Key leadership characteristics: integrity, operating with a growth mindset, collaborative, strong communicator & learning agility

  • Internal systems knowledge (e2Open, Trade Planner, AVE, Engine, AFO, etc.)

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $81000.00 - $121700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
