Job description

As an Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive technical training programs in support of our federal client. You will work as part of a cross-functional team—including other types of design and technical experts—engaging with stakeholders and end-users to develop an effective approach and ensure adoption of new systems and processes.


Responsibilities

  • Outline and understand end users to create training appropriate to meet their diverse needs
  • Analyze existing training materials and business processes to identify learning gaps/needs and opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct user research to determine learning content scope and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to structure learning paths
  • Develop interactive and engaging training materials using a variety of modalities (videos, user guides, eLearning, etc.) with learner theories in mind (ADDIE, Bloom’s, Spiral Model, etc.) to create dynamic learning experiences
  • Incorporate proper implementation of knowledge checks and compliance tracking 
  • Facilitate training development and delivery
  • Establish metrics and measure user adoption 
  • Facilitate learning management system administration, usage, and develop feedback loops for enhancement 
  • Consider long-term governance for sustaining training programs and materials

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of total experience; OR
    • Master's degree and 8+ years of total experience; OR
    • Associate's degree and 12+ years of total experience; OR
    • No degree and 14+ years of total experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Education, Training, or a related field
  • Thorough knowledge of the full training life cycle and demonstrated ability to develop and implement
  • Knowledge of contemporary learning management software platforms
  • Experience with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand
  • Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including UX/UI designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers 
  • A collaborative nature with excellent written communication and presentation skills  
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and a natural curiosity for solving problems coupled with strong analytical skills  
  • Experience with 508 compliant training
  • Experience working in an agile project-based environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Training tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond)

The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $140,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
