Job description

DMG (an Ambient Company) is a growing sales and distributor company representing major HVAC equipment manufacturers. 150+ employees with office locations in Ornage County, Los Angeles, and surrounding areas. We offer an excellent benefit package, competitive salary, and a great family atmosphere.

HVAC Technician, souther CA

Perform skilled mechanical duties in the startup, repairs, installation, preventive maintenance, and routine servicing of HVAC equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • On site startup technician for various manufactures
  • Troubleshoot installation of control systems including working on commercial Daikin, Aaeon, LG HVAC systems
  • Solving issues using reasoning and logic  Communication with individuals who installed the system
  • Programming of new control system using touchscreens and computers
  • Documentation of actions taken on the job site on service reports  Understanding and reading wiring diagrams during troubleshooting
  • Completing all startup documentation and sending it to be entered for warranty
  • Perform other duties and assignments.
  • Maintain regular good attendance

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

  • HVAC trade practices and industry standards
  • HVAC and refrigeration system theory
  • Materials, methods, and tools used in the installation, operation, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Understanding of Electrical theory and how it is used in equipment common to the HVAC trade

Ability to read and interpret manuals

  • Brazing and soldering techniques
  • Applicable health and safety regulations
  • Basic record‑keeping practices
  • Proper storage and handling of equipment, materials, and supplies

Advanced Technical Knowledge:

  • LG, AAON commercial HVAC systems, and commercial package units
  • VRF systems, with expert-level understanding of refrigerant properties.
  • HVAC controls systems and related troubleshooting

Automated temperature control systems

  • Mechanical, electrical, and hydronic systems relevant to commercial HVAC applications
  • Modern, computer‑based HVAC platforms; ability to navigate email, internet applications, basic office software, and computer networking
  • BMS communication systems and functionality
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC wiring schematics

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
  • Two years of HVAC training program

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid California License
  • Active EPA Universal Technician Certification
