Job description

POSITION DUTIES:

1.         Locates and establishes paid and non-paid work opportunities in the community through the development of contacts with potential employers.

2.         Works with Employment Specialists, persons who receive services and employers to develop work experiences and employment matches.

3.         Conducts Intake Interviews with prospective persons who need services.

4.      Coordinates placement activities with Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR), Service Coordinators, clinical staff, and family members.

5.               Writes monthly notes describing job development activities for all persons receiving services who are not presently placed.

6.               Maintains participant records that are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

7.               Facilitates bi-monthly vocational support group (Job Club) for program participants.

8.         Performs all other duties as assigned.

 REQUIREMENTS:

1.         A minimum of 2 years experience securing employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

2.         Bachelors Degree in a related field is required.

3.         Excellent written and communication skills are essential.  

4.         Proficiency in Microsoft Word required.

5.         Travel within all five boroughs to seek out volunteer and paid job sites is required.

6.         Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

7.         Must be able to work Mondays to Fridays 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and occasionally weekends and late evenings if necessary, to accommodate the person been supported.

8.         Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.  Adheres to the agency's corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting.  Completes corporate compliance training at least annually.  Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
