Vice President, Wealth Management Counsel

Ares Management is looking for a Vice President, Wealth Management Counsel to join their legal team in New York. This role involves advising on legal and regulatory matters for their Wealth Management Solutions Business. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and a strong desire to grow alongside the business while supporting its expansion in a responsible manner.

What You’ll Do
  • Advise on legal and regulatory matters in the wealth management space
  • Support new and existing products and initiatives
  • Negotiate agreements with distribution partners
  • Address regulatory issues related to investment products
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Enhance legal frameworks for the business
  • Manage outside counsel relationships
What You Need
  • Juris Doctor (JD) with a strong academic background
  • New York State law license in good standing
  • 8+ years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house
  • Comfortable functioning as a generalist and eager to learn
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance legal and commercial aspects
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks
