Are you passionate about animal welfare and ready to make a meaningful impact on a nonprofit animal rescue? We want to hear from you!

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Board Member – Vice President to join the leadership team at Chester’s Corner Rescue Foundation.

How You Will Contribute:

Responsibilities:

  • Support the President / Executive Director in organizational leadership and decision-making.
  • Ensure continuity of operations and executive oversight in the President’s absence.
  • Collaborate effectively with the board to guide foster, adoption, and operational strategies.
  • Assist in shaping organizational policy and long-term growth initiatives.

Immediate Ownership:

  • Supports executive-level decisions and helps implement strategic priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience supporting or leading executive-level leadership in a nonprofit, animal welfare organization, or similar sector.
  • Proven experience in nonprofit governance, strategic planning, or organizational oversight.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Prior board or nonprofit leadership experience in a 501(c)(3) or similar organization a plus.
  • Must reside in California.
  • Must be willing to support long-term growth toward a paid staff structure.

Commitment Details:

  • This is a volunteer board position.
  • Expected to participate in weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly board meetings initially, transitioning to quarterly meetings as the board and operations stabilize.
  • Support long-term growth toward a paid staff structure.
