Job Description
Position Summary:
The Vice President, LNG Marketing & Trading is responsible for leading Caturus' LNG commercial business, including trading, marketing, origination, portfolio optimization, and commercial strategy. This executive role oversees the development and execution of global LNG growth initiatives, manages commercial performance and profitability, and drives the expansion of LNG supply and customer relationships across key international markets.
The Vice President partners with executive leadership, trading, shipping, risk management, operations, and business development teams to maximize portfolio value, optimize risk-adjusted returns, and establish Caturus as a leading participant in the global LNG marketplace.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive LNG marketing and trading strategies to maximize profitability and market share.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the President and senior leadership on market trends, trading opportunities, and risk management strategies.
  • Lead the establishment of trading operations, including systems, processes, and partnerships, to support the company's scaling objectives.
  • Lead the identification and penetration of high-value LNG markets, focusing on regions with growing demand for cleaner energy solutions.
  • Develop tailored strategies for both long-term contracts and spot market transactions, optimizing revenue streams and market share.
  • Monitor and adapt to global LNG market dynamics, including pricing trends, geopolitical factors, and competitive landscape shifts.
  • Lead the strategic management of the LNG portfolio, ensuring optimal utilization of assets and alignment with market opportunities.
  • Analyze global LNG market trends, pricing dynamics, and supply-demand shifts to inform portfolio strategies and trading decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximize the economic value of LNG assets through innovative trading and marketing approaches.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of LNG marketing and trading professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team expertise in global LNG markets, trading mechanisms, and risk management.
  • Act as a mentor and coach, empowering team members to achieve professional growth and contribute to organizational success.

Qualifications
Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree strongly preferred.

Experience:
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in LNG marketing, trading, or related roles within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale trading operations and securing strategic partnerships.
  • Extensive experience in global energy markets, including knowledge of regulatory frameworks and geopolitical considerations.
  • Experience in establishing trading operations within a rapidly scaling organization strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Exceptional leadership and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of global LNG markets, trading mechanisms, and marketing strategies.
