("Envest" or the "Company") is a dynamic, independent energy producer developing, financing, constructing, owning, operating and managing renewable energy infrastructure across North America. Our mission is to deliver safe, sustainable, reliable and cost-effective energy infrastructure while helping municipalities, industrial clients and communities reduce their environmental footprint.

With operating assets, projects under construction and a growing late-stage development pipeline, Envest is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful execution of major renewable energy infrastructure projects. Initially, the successful candidate will play a key leadership role in delivering one of Ontario's largest renewable natural gas infrastructure developments.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Senior Project Manager will lead the planning, execution and delivery of major renewable energy infrastructure projects ranging in value from approximately $50 million to $150 million.

Reporting to the Vice President, Project Execution, you will be responsible for all aspects of project execution including planning, engineering coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, budget management, schedule control, contract administration and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will act as the Company's primary representative throughout project execution, providing leadership to contractors, consultants and project stakeholders while ensuring successful delivery of project objectives.

The successful candidate will be an experienced self-starter capable of leading complex multidisciplinary projects while working collaboratively with contractors, engineering firms, regulators, municipalities, Indigenous communities, consultants and senior management.

This position requires regular travel to project sites in Southern Ontario.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership

  • Lead all phases of project execution from engineering through commissioning and commercial operation while serving as the Company's principal representative throughout construction.
  • Assume overall accountability for successful project delivery including safety, quality, schedule, budget and performance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans, schedules, budgets and resource plans.
  • Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Construction Management

  • Manage EPC/EPCM firms, prime contractors, subcontractors, equipment suppliers and specialist consultants.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts and quality standards.
  • Administer major construction contracts, negotiate change orders, resolve commercial issues and proactively manage contractor claims throughout project execution.

Financial & Schedule Management

  • Maintain overall accountability for project budgets, capital deployment, cash flow forecasting and financial performance throughout project execution.
  • Prepare regular project reports summarizing schedule, expenditures, forecasts, project risks and mitigation measures.
  • Ensure appropriate project controls and reporting systems are maintained.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, consultants, management and external stakeholders.
  • Build productive relationships with municipalities, regulators, Indigenous communities and project partners.
  • Coordinate permitting and regulatory approvals with appropriate authorities.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and project governance requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable legislation, permits, industry standards and engineering requirements.

Business Support

  • Provide technical and execution support to business development activities.
  • Coordinate Owner's Engineer reviews, lender technical due diligence, independent engineering reviews and institutional financing requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of project management systems and best practices.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.

Professional Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible project management experience leading major industrial or infrastructure capital projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing major industrial or infrastructure projects with capital values in excess of $100 million.
  • Experience managing EPC/EPCM contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
  • Experience in renewable energy, renewable natural gas (RNG), anaerobic digestion, wastewater treatment, bioenergy, natural gas processing or comparable industrial infrastructure projects would be considered a strong asset.
  • Experience managing projects under CCDC contracts and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams would be considered an asset.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering, construction and consulting teams on complex capital infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with municipalities, Indigenous communities, regulators, utilities and project partners.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
