Vice President of Sales & Operations
Location: Houston, Texas and the greater Houston region
Reports To: Senior Vice President
Department: Sales & Operations
Salary Range: $150,000 to $175,000 (plus commissions).
The Vice President of Sales & Operations is a key executive responsible for driving profitable revenue growth while ensuring operational excellence across all commercial cleaning accounts. This dual-focus role bridges strategic business development with hands-on field delivery-overseeing client acquisition, contract renewals, account management, workforce scheduling, quality assurance, and safety protocols across the Greater Houston area.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & P&L Management
  • Drive total revenue growth and gross margins for the commercial cleaning portfolio.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, labor cost management, and operational expenses.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPls) for both sales acquisition and field service delivery.
  • Align operational capacity with sales targets to support scalable business growth.

Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Build and execute go-to-market strategies targeting key Houston sectors (commercial real estate, medical facilities, industrial/plants, educational institutions, and corporate offices).
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, account executives, and business development reps.
  • Personally engage in closing high-value, enterprise-level B2B cleaning contracts.
  • Develop competitive bidding strategies, scope-of-work designs, and pricing models that protect gross margins.

Field Operations & Service Delivery
  • Oversee day-to-day cleaning operations across all client facilities in the Houston metro area.
  • Lead Operations Managers, Area Supervisors, and janitorial staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Implement robust Quality Assurance (QA) inspection programs and customer feedback systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, hazmat protocols, chemical handling (SDS), and local/state labor regulations.
  • Optimize shift scheduling, route efficiency, cleaning equipment deployment, and chemical inventory management.

Account Management & Client Retention
  • Maintain senior-level relationships with property managers, facility directors, and enterprise clients.
  • Drive customer retention strategies, conducting quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with major accounts.
  • Swiftly address and resolve client escalations or quality gaps to minimize contract churn.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
  • 8-10+ years of executive-level leadership experience in facilities management, commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or route-based service operations. Local Houston market experience preferred.
  • Proven success scaling sales revenue while managing operational workforce teams (100+ field personnel).
  • In-depth familiarity with commercial cleaning standards (ISSA, LEED Green Cleaning protocols), bidding software, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot, Swept, or CleanGuru).
  • Strong network and understanding of the local commercial real estate and business landscape in Houston and surrounding regions (Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Katy, Pasadena).
  • Bilingual Preferred: Proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent executive industry experience will be considered.
