Job Description

Lumotive is seeking an experienced, hands‑on VP of Operations to lead, optimize, and scale operational functions across semiconductor manufacturing and the supply chain. This role will serve as a strategic partner to management and oversee fabrication, assembly, test, quality, planning, and logistics, with responsibility for driving operational excellence. The VP of Operations will ensure alignment across manufacturing capabilities, technology roadmaps, customer demand, and corporate strategy, while improving efficiency, yield, and cost performance.

The preferred location for this role is Milpitas, California; candidates based in Redmond, Washington will also be considered. This position reports directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations for wafer fabrication, assembly, testing, and packaging.
  • Drive continuous improvements in yield, cycle time, equipment utilization, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Lead expansion, capacity planning, and technology transitions (e.g., new nodes, new packaging technologies).
  • Manage end-to‑end supply chain including procurement, vendor management, inventory, and logistics.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships to ensure materials availability and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Mitigate supply risks and develop dual‑sourcing strategies.
  • Lead quality systems across manufacturing, supplier management, and customer qualification.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, IATF, and industry‑specific standards.
  • Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for yield issues or field failures.
  • Partner with R&D, Product Engineering, Sales/Marketing, and Finance to support product launches and customer commitments.
  • Translate technology roadmaps into operational requirements within budgetary requirements.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) to high‑volume manufacturing (HVM).
  • Develop long‑term operational strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Mentor and develop a high‑performing operations team.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) spanning manufacturing, supply chain, and operations leadership at a global scale within the fabless semiconductor industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Proven record of operational transformation improving cost, quality, and delivery simultaneously.
  • Proven experience managing high‑volume manufacturing environments.
  • Operational economics, supplier readiness, and data‑driven manufacturing systems expertise, senior executive level communications.
  • Executive presence, clarity in communication, and comfort operating at both strategy and execution levels.
  • Experience leading sophisticated, cross‑functional initiatives that align multiple organizations to deliver coordinated operational results.
  • Experience scaling manufacturing networks or managing large‑site transformations.
  • Proven collaboration to enable aligned execution.

$200,000 - $235,000 a year.

Base pay is scaled depending on experience + Performance based Quarterly Bonus + Equity.
