Job Summary:

In this dual role as Vice President of Ventum Insurance Services Corp and Vice President, Wealth Services at Ventum Financial, you will oversee the strategic growth, development, and compliance of both insurance and wealth service offerings. Combining two complementary leadership positions into one, this role holds full accountability for driving advisor effectiveness, revenue growth, client engagement, and regulatory compliance across both sectors. You will mentor advisors, refine service models, and cultivate strong partnerships to deliver a cohesive, client-centered financial planning solution that unites wealth and insurance services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership and Revenue Growth:
    • Drive the growth of insurance and wealth service revenues through advisor-driven sales, including referrals to specialized Estate Planning professionals.
    • Develop and implement competitive compensation structures and referral agreements to support advisors in delivering comprehensive client solutions.
    • Spearhead initiatives to support advisor business growth, generate new sales, and enhance the firm’s value proposition.
  • Advisor Training and Development:
    • Coach, mentor, and support investment advisors, portfolio managers, and their teams in practice management, client engagement, and value-added services.
    • Implement an annual planning process for advisors to achieve consistent results and a segmented service model to direct resources to high-impact advisor groups.
    • Lead educational programs, including national and regional CE-accredited events, to promote ongoing advisor development.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management:
    • Coordinate closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to maintain regulatory compliance in insurance, financial planning, and wealth services across all provinces.
    • Own and update a compliance manual that meets CLHIA, CIRO, AML, and ATF requirements, and contribute to the Compliance Committee to streamline communication between the securities and insurance entities.
    • Manage license renewals and track advisor compliance designations, ensuring all advisors meet provincial requirements.
  • Operations and Client Support Oversight:
    • Oversee the management of advisor production agreements in the APEXA licensing platform, including training branch administration on supporting advisors with licensing requirements.
    • Ensure orphan clients are reallocated to advisors to generate new business opportunities and audit books of business to identify growth areas.
    • Oversee the insurance commission reconciliation process, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of commissions and alignment to appropriate producer codes.
  • Carrier and Partner Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with insurance carriers to promote product alignment and integration with Ventum’s wealth services.
    • Represent Ventum at industry events and committees as a subject matter expert, advocating for the firm’s resources and value to advisors and clients.
  • Risk Assessment and Compliance Oversight:
    • Execute a bi-annual risk assessment program to demonstrate regulatory diligence, address any compliance gaps, and maintain due diligence across insurance and wealth services.
    • Coordinate with marketing to ensure that client-facing materials are both compliant and effective in showcasing the firm's wealth and insurance solutions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in insurance and wealth management, ideally within a multi-line retail wealth context.
  • Advanced understanding of life and health insurance planning, financial planning, and estate and trust services.
  • Maintains an active insurance license, in good standing, in Ontario or British Columbia. Additional licensing in Quebec, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick is an asset.
  • Harmonize home jurisdiction license within 6 months of hire to all provinces where Ventum Insurance Services Corp is licensed.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams with top and bottom-line accountability.
  • Strong business acumen and execution skills with a strategic mindset to translate business plans into measurable actions and outcomes.
  • Skilled at building and managing relationships with advisors, carrier partners, and senior team members across multiple financial services functions.
  • Excellent prioritization, time management, and analytical problem‑solving skills to manage complex, high-volume tasks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate in “investment advisor language” and a track record of supporting advisor effectiveness through best practices in client acquisition, management, and holistic financial planning.
