Associate Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

The Associate Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will lead VHC Health's information security strategy and program. The CISO will be responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive health data while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, and healthcare regulations.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field;

Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the healthcare industry.

Certification/Licensure:

Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.

Other Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices (HIPAA, HITECH, NIST, etc.).
  • Proven track record of managing security incidents and responding to data breaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
