Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Location: Downtown Wilmington | Full-Time On-Site (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Reports To: Vice President of Human Resources

Are you an HR professional who enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day work of Human Resources? We are seeking a hands-on Human Resources Business Partner to join our small HR department and provide direct support across recruiting, employee relations, leave administration, and HR operations.

In this role, you'll work closely with managers and employees throughout the organization, helping to fill open positions, administer FMLA and other employee leaves, resolve workplace issues, and support a positive employee experience. What You'll DoRecruiting & Staffing Support

You will play a key role in helping managers attract and hire qualified candidates while ensuring a positive candidate experience.

  • Partner with managers to understand staffing needs and assist with creating and posting job openings
  • Manage and maintain job postings through the ADP Recruiting platform
  • Track open positions and prepare weekly recruitment reports
  • Support relationships with recruiting agencies, colleges, and external recruiting resources
  • Assist with internship programs, career fairs, and networking events
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure a smooth transition for new hires
Employee Relations & Leave Administration

You will serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees, helping address workplace concerns and ensuring compliance with employment regulations.

  • Assist managers and employees with HR-related questions, policies, and procedures
  • Handle employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and consistency
  • Administer and track employee leaves, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other leave programs
  • Maintain accurate leave documentation and communication with employees and managers
  • Coordinate unemployment responses and assist with hearings as needed
  • Support investigations, documentation, and resolution of workplace issues
HR Operations & Employee Support

As a member of a small HR team, you'll contribute across a variety of HR functions and help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and issue resolution
  • Coordinate open enrollment and support compensation communication timelines
  • Assist with audits and compliance reporting including ACA, 401(k), NDT, and EEO-1 reporting
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and generate HR analytics and reporting
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and HR process improvements
  • Help maintain and update HR SharePoint resources and communications
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement efforts within the HR department

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 2+ years of HR experience, including recruiting, employee relations, and leave administration
  • Experience supporting managers and employees in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert knowledge of FMLA, ADA, DE PFML and employment law requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
