## Assistant Vice President, FacilitiesApplylocations: (North America) ICC - Adelphi, MDtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: 10026023**Assistant Vice President, Facilities****Office of the Chief Operating Officer****Exempt, Regular, Full-Time** University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks an experienced servant leader as our next Assistant Vice President, Facilities (AVP). Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Facilities, this AVP will lead a team and be responsible for managing the day-to-day facilities operations across UMGC. This includes managing all construction projects related to all UMGC facilities. Our new AVP will ensure proper execution of organization-wide facilities projects, from start to finish, ensuring all renovations meet local code requirements where applicable. The AVP will also coordinate with the management and staff of various departments for space and moves. **Relocation to the Maryland / DC / Northern Virginia metro area is required.** Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Oversees and manages construction projects for all UMGC departments* Develops and manages space plans for all UMGC locations* Oversees the project managers for all capital projects* Leads strategic planning for new projects* Manages special projects as assigned by the Associate Vice President, Facilities* Performs other job-related duties as assigned **Required education & experience:** A demonstrated ability to get things done. An earned high school diploma or GED and at least five (5) years of facilities management experience and at least five (5) years of construction experience (concurrent); a clear understanding of buildings and systems including the complex nature of their operation; extensive knowledge of building construction, repair, and maintenance; strong commitment to customer service; proven ability to monitor and evaluate service quality; experience creating an effective and productive work environment and coordinating renovations, occupancy planning, and workspace optimization; overseeing the design, construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects from planning through closeout; proven success building productive relationships with internal clients, tenants, and external partners; as well as conducting performance evaluations, and an enthusiasm for developing managers and supervisors and mentoring team members. DC Steam Engineer 3rd class license is also required. **Preferred education & experience:** An earned Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning; strong interpersonal skills; an understanding of project management as it applies to construction and facilities management; excellent problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; proven track record in creating a culture of excellence in customer service and continuous improvement.
