Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this full-time direct placement opening for a Vice President of Finance & Accounting. This opportunity will be onsite in Coral Springs, FL. 
 
Position Overview:
 
Seeking a Vice President of Finance & Accounting to lead the company's financial operations, accounting oversight, and financial governance across a multi-entity commercial real estate platform.
 
This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, disciplined execution, and clear financial visibility-while serving as a trusted partner to the President/CEO in financial decision-making.
 
The VP of Finance & Accounting will lead and oversee the accounting function (including the Controller) and will hold authority over financial approvals, governance, and day-to-day financial decision-making.
 
This position includes a structured transition with the current CFO to support knowledge transfer, continuity, and long-term success.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Financial Oversight & Reporting:
  • Oversee the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of consolidated financial statements across multiple entities
  • Review, validate, and approve financial reports prepared by the Controller and accounting team
  • Ensure strong internal controls, financial discipline and consistency in reporting
  • Provide clear financial visibility to leadership including performance trends and key metrics
 
Accounting Leadership:
  • Directly manage and oversee the Controller and accounting team
  • Ensure clear separation between accounting execution and financial oversight
  • Hold the Controller accountable for accurate, timely financial outputs
 
Cash Management:
  • Oversee cash flow across all entities and ensure strong liquidity management
  • Review and interpret cash reports and forecasts
  • Align cash position with operational needs and strategic priorities
 
Capital & Lender Coordination:
  • Lead relationships with lenders, banks and financial partners
  • Oversee lender reporting and ensure compliance with loan covenants
  • Support refinancing efforts and debt strategy
  • Prepare and review financial materials for lenders and stakeholders
 
Strategic Financial Partnership:
  • Partner with President/CEO on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and decision-making
  • Provide clear, practical insights into financial performance, risks, and tradeoffs
  • Support capital allocation decisions and redevelopment initiatives 
  • Participate in leadership discussions with a steady, solution-oriented mindset 
 
Tax & External Advisor Coordination:
  • Coordinate with CPAs, auditors, and tax advisors
  • Support tax planning and review of tax returns
  • Ensure accuracy of financial data used for tax and structuring
  • Monitor capital accounts and ownership-related financial matters
 
Real Estate Financial Oversight:
  • Review tenant financials and support credit decisions
  • Provide financial input into lease structuring and deal analysis 
  • Coordinate real estate tax appeal data and strategy (including external partners) 
  • Collaborate with property management and leasing teams
 
Financial Governance, Risk Management & Approvals:
  • Establish and oversee financial approval frameworks for expenditures, contracts, and capital commitments 
  • Review and approve expenditures and vendor agreements above defined thresholds 
  • Provide financial oversight and input on key legal agreements, including: Leases, Purchase and Sale Agreements; Development Agreements; Significant vendor and service contracts 
  • Coordinate with legal counsel to ensure financial and business terms are aligned and risks are understood 
  • Oversee payroll approval processes and ensure alignment with financial controls 
  • Serve as a key control point for financial and contractual decisions, ensuring alignment with company strategy, risk tolerance, and financial discipline
 
Process & Systems:
  • Improve financial and accounting processes for efficiency and consistency 
  • Support and optimize systems (including Yardi and internal workflows) 
  • Build scalable processes without unnecessary bureaucracy 
  • Ensure accountability and follow-through across financial operations


Requirements: 
 
Ideal Candidate:
  • 10-20+ years of finance/accounting experience (commercial real estate strongly preferred) 
  • Strong background in financial oversight and accounting leadership 
  • Experience managing Controllers and accounting teams 
  • Experience with multi-entity structures and consolidations 
  • Solid understanding of commercial real estate finance and debt 
  • Calm, steady, and thoughtful demeanor 
  • High integrity and strong ownership mindset 
  • Strong judgment in financial and contractual decision-making
