Our client is a rapidly growing construction services organization seeking an experienced Vice President of Construction Operations to lead and scale Construction Operations across commercial and industrial projects.

This executive leadership position is responsible for driving operational excellence, profitability, strategic growth, project execution, customer satisfaction, and leadership development across multiple project teams.

We're looking for a collaborative leader with a proven track record of building high-performing teams while delivering projects safely, on time, and on budget.


What You'll Do As The VP Of Construction Operations:


Executive Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership for all construction operations
  • Partner with executive leadership on growth initiatives and long-term planning
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Identify operational risks, workforce needs, and market opportunities


Construction Operations

  • Oversee projects from award through closeout
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Drive consistency across scheduling, procurement, documentation, and project execution
  • Improve operational performance through measurable KPIs


Financial Leadership

  • Own departmental budgeting, forecasting, profitability, and financial performance
  • Improve project margins through operational efficiencies
  • Partner with Finance to support billing, collections, and cash flow
  • Mitigate financial and operational risk


Team Development

  • Lead and mentor Project Managers and Operations leaders
  • Build succession plans and develop future leaders
  • Recruit and retain top construction talent
  • Foster employee engagement and accountability


Client Relationships

  • Serve as the executive point of contact for key clients
  • Strengthen relationships with owners, developers, contractors, and consultants
  • Support business development and strategic growth initiatives
  • Drive customer satisfaction and repeat business


Safety & Quality

  • Champion a proactive safety culture across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
  • Promote quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain consistent operational standards and project management processes.


WHAT QULIFICATIONS WILL CATCH OUR EYES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within commercial construction, industrial construction, mechanical contracting, plumbing, MEP, or related industries.
  • 5+ years of experience leading project management and operational teams.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing multiple large-scale construction projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, financial performance, and operational execution.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to project sites, customer meetings, and operational locations.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
