Production / Material Handler

Metal Wire Manufacturing Company

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production / Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for supporting the production of metal wire products by operating equipment, moving materials throughout the facility, preparing orders, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport wire coils, raw materials, and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Support wire drawing, spooling, packaging, and other production processes.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment (training provided as needed).
  • Set up and assist production machines according to work orders and production schedules.
  • Inspect materials and finished products for quality and accuracy.
  • Package, label, and prepare products for shipment.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized through regular housekeeping activities.
  • Work collaboratively with production, shipping, and maintenance teams to meet daily goals.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read work orders, production instructions, and shipping documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to safely handle metal wire products and materials.
