Volunteer User Testing information

What companies will pay you to test their products?

Volunteer user testing roles are often offered by companies in the tech, e-commerce, and app development sectors. These companies pay testers to provide feedback on websites, apps, and products, often through platforms like UserTesting, TryMyUI, and Userlytics, which connect testers with businesses seeking user experience insights.

Can you actually make money on UserTesting?

Volunteer User Testing typically does not pay; it involves providing feedback on websites and apps for free. However, some platforms offer paid testing opportunities where users can earn money or gift cards by completing tests that usually take 10-20 minutes and require basic technical skills. Earnings vary depending on the platform and the complexity of the tests, but generally, it is not a reliable source of substantial income.

How much do UserTesting people get paid?

UserTesting participants, including those performing user testing roles, typically earn between $10 and $60 per test, with payments often around $10 to $20 for each completed session. The pay rate depends on the complexity and length of the test, and testers can complete multiple tests per day if available.

How do I become a user tester?

To become a volunteer user tester, you typically need to sign up through testing platforms or companies that offer testing opportunities, complete a profile with relevant skills and device information, and sometimes pass a basic screening or qualification test. Having good communication skills and familiarity with digital products can improve your chances of being selected for testing tasks.
