Location: Cornerstone Fellowship - Livermore, CA (Corporate Office)
Department: Student Ministries (Brentwood)
Reports To: Area Pastor
Status: Part-Time (20-25 hrs/week), Exempt, Pastoral
Overview:
The Student Ministries Pastor provides spiritual leadership and oversight for the Middle School and High School ministries at Cornerstone Fellowship's Brentwood Campus. This pastor equips volunteers, disciples students, partners with parents, and creates environments where students can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Responsibilities include planning and leading weekend services, midweek gatherings, retreats, camps, and special events, all in alignment with Cornerstone Fellowship's mission, vision, values, and beliefs.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pastoral Responsibilities
Authorized to perform sacerdotal functions:
  • Baptism
  • Communion
  • Weddings
  • Funerals
  • Prayers for those in need

Ministry Leadership & Development
  • Collaborate regularly with the Area Pastor for training, feedback, evaluation, and vision alignment.
  • Recruit, train, and equip volunteer leaders.
  • Foster healthy team dynamics and develop volunteer spiritual gifts and leadership capacity.
  • Create opportunities for spiritual growth and leadership development for youth and volunteers.
  • Actively engage with youth and parents to build strong relationships and trust.
  • Oversee youth ministry budget and partner with Central, HR, and Finance teams as needed.
  • Plan and lead youth services, midweek gatherings, retreats, and special events.
  • Facilitate team-building opportunities throughout the year
  • Shepherd and disciple students through mentoring, counseling, and pastoral care.

Communication & Teaching
  • Cast clear and compelling vision for youth discipleship.
  • Communicate strategy, programming, and event details effectively to youth, parents, volunteers, and staff.
  • Teach God's Word in biblically sound, engaging, and age-appropriate ways during services, small groups, and one-on-one discipleship.
  • Utilize digital platforms and social media to engage the youth community effectively.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bible college or ministry training preferred.

Experience:
  • One year of student ministry or related leadership experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (public speaking and 1:1 ministry).
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and social media platforms.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Exceptional problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to anticipate change and react efficiently and expeditiously
  • Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to offer constructive feedback
