Position Summary

The Lead Concessions Runner, is responsible for leading and supervising the team of Concessions Runners. Responsible for performing the following F&B warehouse operations, including inventory, receiving, clean-up, and transfers. This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule, which includes evenings and weekends. A passion for customer service, availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction, and independent decision-making skills are required.ย 

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00-$18.00

About the Venue

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center features a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, over 54,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space, and an arena-view restaurant, the Spotlight Grille. The arena is home to Florida State Men's and Women's basketball and is known for its electric atmosphere and fierce home court advantage. Not only a music and sports venue, the arena is also frequently used for trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and classes.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting with receiving and distribution control for F&B in the venue.
  • Maintain sanitation and organizational systems of all warehouse storage areas.
  • Fulfills all event expectations, including but not limited to delivering product to stands during events, post-event clean-up and break-down, equipment storage, sanitation, and maintenance.
  • Ensure that appropriate stocking levels are met for each stand for each event; rotate products FIFO and maintain the integrity of products.
  • Ensure a proper transfer process of products between locations, including follow-up documentation.
  • Responsible for concession and other F&B equipment cleaning and maintenance: portable equipment, carts, floors, refrigeration, and lighting.
  • Conduct a walk-through of the warehouse and storage areas after the completion of the day to ensure all areas are clean.
  • Responsible for checking out NPOs, subcontractors, and other concession runners at the end of the event. Ensuring all cleanup is done and stock put away.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all existing concession locations: geographical location, equipment, and evacuation procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of hospitality experience or similar venue experience.
  • Food/Alcohol service certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, professional, and courteous manner that fosters a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions (i.e., regarding product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid ServSafe Food Handlers certification and alcohol service certification or the ability to obtain said certifications.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc. pertaining to OVG and venue concession operations.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory.
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Must be able to frequently lift heavy objects.
