Job description

Part-Time Office Assistant

New York City, NY

At Rothy’s, we know there’s a better way to do business, and it starts by putting the planet and its people first. More than 225 million single-use plastic bottles and 715,000 pounds of ocean-bound marine plastic have been transformed into our signature thread, creating wardrobe staples that look just as good as they feel.

Striving for zero waste, we combine 3D knitting technology and handcrafted assembly to create machine washable styles that don’t compromise on comfort. From classic shoes to carry-everywhere bags, we create essentials for wherever you go.

At Rothy’s, building a sustainable future is at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive environment at our HQ, retail stores and wholly-owned factory, and are growing our community every day.

About the Team:

Together, the members of our People & Workplace team make up the most well-versed employee directory you can imagine. From the moment a candidate is interested in working with us until the day they celebrate their first anniversary—and well beyond—this team is working behind the scenes to ensure everything is smooth sailing. From benefits questions to employee engagement and building community, these team members are true Rothy’s champions.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a warm, organized, and proactive Office Assistant to help keep our New York office running smoothly. In this part-time role (approximately 12–20 hours per week), you’ll be the go-to person who keeps our NY space humming—making sure our team has everything they need to do their best work. From keeping supplies stocked to supporting high-profile meetings and market events, you’ll play a meaningful role in creating a welcoming, well-functioning workplace where everyone can thrive.

What you’ll do:

Office Operations & Facilities

  • Manage office supplies including food and beverage, cleaning supplies, and paper goods—handling ordering, unpacking, and restocking

  • Maintain smooth mail and package flow, including breaking down boxes and managing trash and recycling

  • Coordinate cleaning support to keep the office looking great day to day, including management and organization of the samples closet

  • Manage building relationships, including coordinating holiday tips for building cleaners and staff, and other goodwill touchpoints

  • Partner with our wholesale team to manage back office storage and wholesale sample flow

  • Manage ongoing IT and tech needs in partnership with our SF based tech team (including coordinating computer orders for the NY office)

  • Take on additional administrative tasks, travel booking, and ad hoc projects as needed—pitching in wherever the team needs you most

Meetings & Events

  • Partner with SF HQ based team to prepare the office for board, stakeholder, and external meetings

  • Support wholesale market events by greeting guests, prepping beverages and snacks, and creating a welcoming experience

  • Order breakfast and lunch for the New York team in alignment with the SF office calendar

Employee Experience & Community

  • Help execute team celebrations, employee appreciation moments, volunteer activities, and other community building events

  • Partner with the People Ops team to set up desks and workspaces for new hires

You are:
  • Someone who notices the details. Whether it’s an empty snack drawer, a conference room that needs resetting, or a teammate who could use an extra hand, you’re the kind of person who takes initiative and jumps in before being asked

  • Someone who genuinely cares about the people around them and the space they all share

  • A natural organizer who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly

  • A warm and approachable presence who makes everyone feel welcome

  • Proactive and resourceful—you anticipate needs before they become problems

  • Clear, friendly communicator—whether you’re emailing a vendor or greeting a guest

  • Adaptable and comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

You have:
  • A can-do attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn

  • Strong organizational instincts and the ability to juggle multiple tasks without losing the details

  • Comfort with using technology and a willingness to figure things out as you go

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace or similar tools (or the enthusiasm to get up to speed quickly)

Our benefits:
  • Wellness and Commuter Programs

  • PTO and Wellbeing Time

  • Employee Discount Program

Pay range:

$29.00 - $35.00 per hour

Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
