Job description

Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice. The Center ensures understanding and values differences in people of diverse cultures, ethnic origins, sexual orientation, disabilities and beliefs.

Overview:

The Recreational Center Assistant Program Manager supports the oversight, coordination, and daily operations of multiple R-Center locations. They ensure high-quality implementation of restorative practices, prevention programming, and youth development services across sites. This position provides direct restorative practice support including circles, mediation, de-escalation, mentoring, and psycho-educational groups for youth and adults.

Schedule: Full time, 35 hours per week. Monday- Friday1:30pm-9pm when school is in session, Monday- Friday 10am- 5:30pm during school breaks.

Location: Recreational Centers

Responsibilities:

  • Support administration, coordination, and daily operations across multiple R-Center sites
  • Provide direct supervision and support to Social Learning Specialists, interns, and volunteers
  • Facilitate restorative practice interventions, circles, mediations, and de-escalation support
  • Maintain and supervise the restorative/calming space for youth
  • Respond to building conflicts and behavioral escalations as needed
  • Co-facilitate restorative practice trainings for staff, youth, families, and community partners
  • Assist with data collection, documentation, and tracking of restorative interventions
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with funder and agency requirements
  • Assist in preparation of monthly QA and program reports
  • Support scheduling and oversight of activity coordinators, interns, and youth volunteers
  • Help develop lesson plans, resource files, and training materials
  • Support program evaluation and outcome tracking
  • Engage parents in restorative practices through dialogue circles and trainings
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with R-Center Community Center Managers and stakeholders
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff
  • Participate in supervision, meetings, and professional development trainings
  • Work directly with youth to develop additional programs/services based on identified needs
  • Create a welcoming, safe, fun, and restorative environment for youth
  • Serve as back-up for direct service staff as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in education, social work, or counseling OR 2-3 years of restorative justice and youth development OR Equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Experience facilitating restorative circles and interventions with youth and adults
  • A valid Driver's license

Skills:

  • Strong documentation and data management skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel

Pay Rate: $26- $28 per hour
