SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The City of San Marcos' Parks and Recreation Department is seeking new volunteers to participate in the Reserve Ranger program!
If you are at least 18 years old, enjoy the outdoors, want to protect your habitat (community) and want to volunteer, consider becoming a reserve ranger.
As a Reserve Ranger, you will support the Park Ranger program by patrolling the City's parks and trails, and provide special event assistance at many of the City's biggest events.
QUALIFICATIONS
How to Become a Reserve Ranger:
  • Complete and submit online application.
  • Qualified and invited applicants will be invited to participate in an interview process
  • Selected volunteers will go through a background check, pre-volunteer physical and a safe driving awareness course.

Requirements:
  • At least 18 years of age at time of volunteer assignment
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license, Class C, with satisfactory driving record
  • Available for consistent, ongoing volunteer commitment
  • Enjoys working with the public, being outdoors on the trails and in the parks and sharing your passion for nature and recreation with the community
