Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Nutrition Services Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations and lead the Nutrition Services team. This key leadership role ensures students receive nutritious, high-quality meals that meet federal school nutrition standards while supporting specialized dietary needs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about food service, team development, and making a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Leadership & Menu Planning
Develop, implement, and standardize recipes and menus for meals, snacks, and special dietary needs (gluten-free, etc.)
Ensure all meals meet Federal School Nutrition Standards and submit menus to the Registered Dietitian for approval
Prioritize seasonal, sustainable, and locally sourced food when possible
Maintain and support menu planning software
Operations, Purchasing & Inventory
Manage food and supply purchasing based on menus, student dietary needs, and budget considerations
Track and manage receiving, inventory, invoices, and production records
Ensure dietary changes and requests are communicated to kitchen staff efficiently
Maintain dietary serving notes and documentation standards
Team Leadership & Staff Supervision
Supervise Cooks, Kitchen Aides, and Production Cook
Create and maintain staff schedules and monitor overtime
Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations
Provide coaching, corrective action, and professional development support
Assist with cooking, food preparation, serving, cleaning, and dishwashing as needed
Collaboration & Education
Partner with group home teams to support healthy, age-appropriate menu and snack implementation
Occasionally attend mealtimes within residential settings to provide education and support
Follow evidence-based nutrition practices and company standards
Schedule
Full-time, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm
Includes weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as needed.
Must be responsive to coverage needs and emergencies

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 years of food service or kitchen operations experience required, or a Foodservice Management degree (entry-level candidates considered)
Previous experience developing menus, inventory management, and ordering strongly preferred
Experience working with children or adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities is a plus
Required Skills & Attributes:
Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
Ability to maintain a calm and effective demeanor in emergency and stressful situations.
Capable of managing competing priorities and making decisions independently.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality care.
Ability to effectively implement approved physical intervention techniques.
Additional Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Willingness to work with residents in a variety of settings, including community outings
Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting, mobility, and active supervision
