Job description

Description Positions in this class lead a youth sports team through practices and games. Officiate teams and games as needed. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation.

Essential Duties Contact: Gary Gartner, 480-474-5119, ggartner@apachejunctionaz.gov Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per week, or as assigned Days of Work Week: Monday through Saturday Hours: Weekday evenings and Weekends days Age: 16 years of age and older Location: Various Sports Facilities Minimum Qualifications Previous experience and knowledge of sports coaching is desired; mandatory training will be provided. Volunteers eighteen (18) years of age or older who are accepted for the assignment will be required to successfully complete a criminal background report. Supplemental Information Knowledge Communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing) Knowledge of City and department procedures, policies, and guidelines Skills Convey a positive, friendly attitude, work pleasantly with staff, patrons, and other volunteers

Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures; receive instruction from Parks and Rec staff Work congenially with staff, patrons, and other volunteers Ability to lift and move objects as needed
