At Hands and Hearts for Horses, we offer therapeutic horsemanship for those with special needs. Working for our organization requires heart, passion and a strong drive to grow our program. We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Volunteer Coordinator to lead and inspire our volunteer engagement initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to support our community programs and organizational goals. Your energetic leadership will foster a vibrant volunteer community, ensuring that each individual feels valued and empowered to make a meaningful impact. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to drive community engagement and strengthen organizational outreach through innovative volunteer management strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategies, including professional recruitment efforts and community outreach initiatives.
  • Coordinate volunteer onboarding, training sessions, and ongoing development programs to ensure volunteers are well-prepared and motivated.
  • Manage volunteer databases using tools such as Salesforce, Wranglr, Outlook and Microsoft applications to track engagement, hours, and program participation.
  • Supervise volunteer teams during events and program activities, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Foster strong relationships with volunteers by maintaining open communication, recognizing contributions, and promoting a positive volunteer experience.
  • Collaborate with community partners and culturally diverse communities to expand outreach efforts and enhance program inclusivity.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of volunteer engagement programs that align with organizational goals while ensuring excellent customer service standards are met.


Qualifications

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, volunteer management or related community engagement roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams of volunteers or staff in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written communication skills for creating training materials, reports, and outreach content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce and Wranglr is highly desirable for database management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
