Job description

Clinical Education Program Supervisor, Hands-On Learning Position Summary

The Clinical Education Program Supervisor, Hands-On Learning provides leadership and operational oversight for hands-on clinical education program initiatives designed to complement existing educational offerings. This role is responsible for implementing and operationalizing learning experiences that support clinical confidence, skill development, deliberate practice, mentorship, coaching, feedback, and hands-on learning opportunities.

The Supervisor serves as the primary operational leader for hands-on learning initiatives, partnering with internal teams, subject matter experts, educational partners, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation, participant engagement, and measurable outcomes.

This role requires a highly collaborative professional who can build relationships across multiple functions, align stakeholders, and drive initiatives from planning through implementation to achieve desired outcomes.

Heartland Dental is the nation's largest dental support organization, providing non-clinical administrative support services to more than 3,000 supported doctors across 39 states and the District of Columbia in 1,900+ dental offices. Each Heartland Dental supported office is unique to the community and the patients they serve. Supported doctors are the clinical leaders of their practice, retain full clinical autonomy, and establish their own care philosophies. Team Leadership
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the Clinical Education Program Coordinator through ongoing performance management, coaching, and development conversations.
  • Establish priorities, workloads, and performance expectations to support successful program implementation.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while providing guidance and support for daily operations and program activities.
  • Foster strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders to support alignment, communication, and execution of learning initiatives.
Data Analytics & Performance Reporting
  • Own tracking, reporting, and performance measurement process for hands-on learning initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and operational metrics to monitor enrollment, participation, engagement, utilization, completion, and program outcomes.
  • Analyze trends, identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support business reviews, planning discussions, and strategic decision-making.
Hands-On Program Operations
  • Lead implementation of hands-on learning initiatives.

Oversee program execution, timelines, deliverables, and operational readiness.

  • Coordinate participant selection, enrollment, scheduling, completion tracking, and follow-up activities.
  • Monitor program capacity and utilization to optimize participation opportunities.
  • Ensure consistency across learning experiences and implementation processes.
  • Serve as an escalation point for operational challenges and implementation barriers.
Learner Development & Program Quality
  • Oversee learner assessment, competency tracking, and development processes to ensure consistent application of program standards across hands-on learning initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and oversight regarding learner progression, educational pathways, and support strategies to promote successful program outcomes.

Analyze learner performance trends, competency attainment data, and program outcomes to identify opportunities for program enhancement and continuous improvement.

Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build collaborative partnerships across internal and external stakeholders to align resources, coordinate activities, and support successful learning experiences.
  • Partner with faculty, presenters, vendors, educational partners, subject matter experts, and Clinical Education Developers to support program delivery, content enhancements, and ongoing program updates.
  • Ensure educational materials, resources, and learning experiences remain current, relevant, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Support planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of hands-on learning initiatives through evaluation of data, stakeholder feedback, and program outcomes.
Continuous Improvement & Program Support
  • Support implementation and monitoring of strategic initiatives.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, and action plans.
  • Contribute to operational planning and forecasting activities.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data, stakeholder feedback, and organizational priorities.
  • Promote best practices that improve learner experiences and operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in clinical education, education operations, program management, healthcare operations, learning and development, or related fields.
  • Experience leading complex programs, initiatives, or projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience using data, reporting, and performance metrics to drive program outcomes and operational improvements.
  • Experience providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, or team oversight.
  • Dental, healthcare, education, or related industry experience.
  • Data analysis, reporting, dashboard development and metric management.
  • Operational planning and project coordination.
  • Process improvement and workflow optimization.
  • Leadership, coaching, and team development.
  • Stakeholder relationship management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders and drive projects from planning through implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Dental or healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in education operations, program management, analytics, reporting, project management, or operational leadership preferred.
  • Previous team lead, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, Business, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • Experience supervising employees.
  • Experience supporting hands-on learning, clinical education, competency development, or training programs.
