Job description

A data-driven enterprise in Chicago is seeking a Machine Learning leader to drive advanced analytics and AI initiatives across the organization. This full-time role focuses on building and deploying scalable ML solutions using modern Python-based frameworks, cloud-native tooling, and production-grade MLOps practices. Youโ€™ll work with high-volume, high-dimensional data in a collaborative, business-facing environment. This is not a research-only position โ€” itโ€™s an opportunity to own real business problems from idea to production. The team is looking for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on technical work with mentoring a small group of scientists and partnering directly with stakeholders. Youโ€™ll gain exposure to a wide variety of problem domains, modern ML architectures, and enterprise-scale systems while maintaining a healthy balance between innovation and execution. Required Skills & Experience
  • Advanced degree in a technical or quantitative field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering ML solutions in production environments
  • Strong Python and SQL skills with experience in data manipulation and feature engineering
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
  • Proven background in MLOps, model deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience leading or mentoring a small team of data scientists or ML engineers
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Hands-on experience with NLP, LLMs, deep learning, or time series forecasting
  • Familiarity with MLflow or similar experiment tracking tools
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git-based workflows
  • Exposure to optimization techniques, simulation, or Bayesian methods
  • Experience building interactive analytical tools (Streamlit, React, dashboards)
  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, S3, Teradata)
What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown
  • 40% Python-based ML development and modeling
  • 25% MLOps, deployment, and automation
  • 20% Data engineering and feature development
  • 15% Interactive tools, optimization, and experimentation
Daily Responsibilities
  • 60% Hands-on technical contribution
  • 20% Team leadership and mentoring
  • 20% Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
The Offer
  • Bonus eligible
You Will Receive the Following Benefits:
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Generous Vacation Time
  • Long-term incentive or equity participation
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
