Volunteer Graphic Designers are creative professionals who offer their graphic design skills and services without financial compensation, usually to support nonprofit organizations, charities, or community projects. They help with designing logos, promotional materials, social media graphics, and other visual content that helps organizations communicate more effectively. By volunteering, they contribute to important causes and can also gain experience, build their portfolios, and expand their professional networks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a volunteer graphic designer?

To thrive as a Volunteer Graphic Designer, you need a solid understanding of design principles, proficiency in using graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite, and a relevant portfolio showcasing your work. Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva is typically expected, and knowledge of web design systems like WordPress can be beneficial. Creativity, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams are essential soft skills for this role. These skills ensure that design projects effectively communicate organizational messages, enhance brand identity, and support the mission of nonprofit or community-focused groups.

Job description

Branded Social Media Graphics and Constant Contact Templates

We'd like to connect with a skilled graphic designer to create 10–15 branded social media graphics and reusable, editable templates in Constant Contact. Working from content, branding, and campaign messaging provided by our team, the volunteer will design visual assets that can be used across future campaigns. Deliverables will include 10–15 finished graphics, editable Constant Contact templates, and organized source files that our staff can update and reuse after the Project concludes.

High‑quality social graphics will help the Faisal Foundation amplify awareness of its cleft and craniofacial programs, share patient stories and partner work, and attract supporters. Volunteers will directly support increased visibility for life‑saving care and our recognition as Best Cleft Charity of 2026.

We will provide brand assets, sample messages, campaign goals, and timely feedback. Staff will coordinate content and implement the final graphics. Details and schedules will be provided during conversations with the volunteer so work can proceed smoothly.

The Faisal Foundation is a global nonprofit dedicated to improving access to life‑saving medical care for infants born with cleft and craniofacial conditions. In alignment with its child‑centered mission, the Foundation also partners with trusted organizations delivering child development and enrichment programs, providing strategic funding to support holistic outcomes for children and families in underserved communities.
