About Us:

Kane Innovations is an industry leader in the manufacturing of custom railing, ornamental metal products, security screens and detention products that has been a leader in each market for over 100 years with three fabrication facilities. The Erie facility primarily focuses on a wide variety of railing types and some ornamental metal products. The Kane facility primarily focuses on wide variety of security screens to fit the level of security needed for each facility along with multiple types of detention barriers, modular cells, detention furniture, security ceilings and walls.

Position Summary:

The CNC Programmer/Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, with a primary focus on Haas equipment. This role ensures the efficient production of high-quality parts while maintaining safety, accuracy, and adherence to production schedules.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, primarily Haas mills and/or lathes
  • Develop and edit CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
  • Perform machine setup, including tool changes, offsets, and calibration
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and production data
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred
  • 3+ years of CNC programming and operating experience, preferably with Haas machines
  • Proficiency in G-code programming and/or CAM software
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments
  • Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi-axis machining (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis)
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials


Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking materials
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
