Job description

Position Overview

Use your precision mindset to configure, run, and program CNC and laser cutting equipment while crafting the custom jigs and fixtures that keep production accurate and efficient. Experience with robotic programming and integration is a strong asset and will help accelerate our automation efforts.

A Day in the Life
  • Power up and configure fiber and/or CO2 laser cutters and CNC machines for the day’s build list.
  • Load programs you’ve created in CAD/CAM (Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam) or hand-coded in G-code, then validate toolpaths.
  • Tune cutting parameters by material and thickness to balance edge quality, throughput, and minimal scrap.
  • Design, fabricate, and refine custom holding tools, jigs, and fixtures to minimize setup time and boost repeatability.
  • Partner with engineering and production to ensure tooling meets safety and performance requirements.
  • Assist with programming and integrating robotic systems for automated material handling or secondary operations when needed.
  • Verify parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm dimensional and surface finish specs.
  • Record machine settings, program revisions, and maintenance activities; share ideas that drive continuous improvement.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep a safe, efficient work area.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical diploma or associate degree in machining, manufacturing, or mechatronics is preferred.
  • 3+ years operating and programming CNC and laser cutting machines.
  • Fluency in CAD/CAM software and G-code programming.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical drawings, tolerances, and material behavior.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building custom tooling and fixtures.
  • Familiarity with robotic systems (FANUC, ABB, KUKA) is a plus.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfort working both independently and with teams in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing floor setting with exposure to machinery, noise, natural elements, and metalworking processes.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
