Job description

Technical Coordinator
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join a distributed software development team and quickly take ownership of active digital initiatives. This is an urgent, hands-on leadership role for someone who can guide development across onsite and offshore teams while remaining actively involved in full-stack engineering.
To secure an interview, candidates should demonstrate 8+ years of software development experience, at least 2 years of technical leadership, strong Java/Spring Boot expertise, modern front-end development skills, and proven experience coordinating distributed development teams.
Must Haves
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years in a Technical Lead or comparable engineering leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success leading and coordinating distributed onsite and offshore development teams across multiple time zones.
  • Strong hands-on development expertise with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices-based architectures.
  • Professional front-end development experience using Angular or React, along with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL, relational databases, Git, and CI/CD development practices.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies; AWS experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple development workstreams, establish accountability, resolve blockers, and keep delivery efforts moving forward.

What the Client Needs You to Do
The successful candidate will provide the technical and delivery leadership needed to connect an onsite development organization with an established offshore engineering team. You will create alignment across teams, improve communication, coordinate execution, and help ensure development commitments are delivered successfully.
This position requires more than project coordination. You will remain technically engaged, contributing to development activities while reviewing solutions, providing technical direction, and helping engineers resolve complex implementation challenges. You should be comfortable entering an established environment, quickly understanding existing applications and workstreams, and assuming ownership without requiring extensive ramp-up time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead software development activities across distributed onsite and offshore engineering teams.
  • Coordinate multiple technical workstreams, dependencies, priorities, and delivery commitments across different time zones.
  • Develop and enhance full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST services, microservices, and modern front-end technologies.
  • Guide engineers on technical design, implementation approaches, coding standards, and software development best practices.
  • Review application architecture and proposed solutions to identify technical risks, dependencies, scalability concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Estimate development effort and contribute to technical planning, prioritization, and delivery forecasting.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and delivery leaders to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Monitor development progress, surface blockers early, and drive ownership and accountability across distributed contributors.
  • Support source control, automated build, deployment, and CI/CD practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues while helping the broader engineering team identify sustainable solutions.

Additional Information
Experience supporting eCommerce, digital sales, customer portals, or other customer-facing digital applications is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Agile software delivery practices and experience participating in architecture reviews, technical estimation, solution planning, and engineering decision-making are also preferred.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with practical leadership skills. You should be comfortable moving between hands-on engineering, technical decision-making, stakeholder discussions, and delivery coordination throughout the day.
Success in this position will depend heavily on your ability to act as the connection point between onsite and offshore engineering groups. Clear communication, proactive problem solving, strong organization, and consistent follow-through will be essential. The right candidate will establish credibility quickly, create clarity across teams, strengthen accountability, and help ensure ongoing initiatives are delivered efficiently and successfully.
W2 employees of Overture Partners who work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), 401(k) starting on day one, a variety of voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
