Description
The Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) seeks an inspiring and strategic leader to serve as Chair of its Environmental Health Sciences department. Under the vision of Dean Megan Ranney, the school is advancing strategic academic public health leadership by linking science to society. This position presents an exceptional opportunity to help (re)shape the future of public health education and research at one of the world's leading academic institutions.
As the department's academic and administrative leader, the Department Chair will collaborate with School leadership and lead strategic efforts to grow and elevate the department's national and global impact. The Chair will foster a dynamic academic community, including the recruitment and mentoring of additional world class faculty. The Chair will also lead the department's educational programs and provide a vision for both near-term cutting-edge curriculum initiatives and long-range program planning. This includes recruiting, teaching, and ensuring support for MPH, MS and PhD students.
YSPH values collaborative leadership, a commitment to mentorship, and an academic approach that bridges research and practice. The successful candidate will bring a strong academic record that merits appointment as Full Professor with tenure at Yale, effective teaching, mentoring and leadership skills, internationally recognized scholarship in environmental health sciences research and a vision for advancing public health science.

About the Department of Environmental Health Sciences
The Department (https://ysph.yale.edu/research/department-research/environmental-health-sciences/) currently has faculty whose research fields include environmental epidemiology, molecular toxicology, green chemistry, climate epidemiology and exposomics. The department faculty serve as principal investigators of approximately $7M of extramurally funded research annually, lead several T32 training grants, and work across the full spectrum of translational research.
The department has vibrant educational programs including MPH, MS, and PhD that attract students with a focus on research and leadership in the field. The MPH and MS graduates go on to a variety of careers in environmental health sciences and public health leadership in the application of science to policy and research to address environmental impacts on health.
