What is the difference between Volunteer Debate Judge vs Debate Coach?
| Aspect | Volunteer Debate Judge | Debate Coach |
|---|---|---|
| Required Credentials | None typically required; some knowledge of debate preferred | Experience in debate, coaching certifications often preferred |

Volunteer Debate Judges primarily evaluate debates during competitions without formal coaching responsibilities. Debate Coaches, on the other hand, train and prepare students for debates, often working regularly with teams. While judges focus on impartial assessment, coaches guide skill development. Both roles are essential in the debate community but differ in responsibilities and involvement.
