Job description

Job Title: Senior Data Analyst
Job Type: Full time, Onsite
Salary Range: $115K to $130K (based on experience)

Who we are…
We are Payactiv, a FinTech company in the heart of Silicon Valley, devoted to giving workers access to their earned wages when they need them. Payactiv is the pioneer and industry leader in Earned Wage Access. We are the only Certified B Corporation and Public Benefit Corporation in our industry. Our app provides millions with financial services that help them avoid debt, manage their finances, and regain flexibility to pay for things on their own schedule.

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst, based out of our Milpitas office, who is passionate about using data to drive decisions, uncover insights, and shape products that transform how people experience financial wellness. In this role, you'll own end-to-end analytics initiatives, influence strategy across the organization, and mentor junior analysts as we scale our data function. If you thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where your work directly impacts people’s lives, this role is for you.

What you will do…
  • Lead cross-functional analytics partnerships with product, engineering, marketing, operations, and customer teams — scoping ambiguous business problems, designing analytical frameworks, and delivering insights that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Leverage SQL and Python to query and analyze large datasets, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization
  • Design and build dashboards and compelling visualizations using Sigma Computing, Tableau, or other BI tools to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Support performance analytics and tracking for key business areas — building measurement frameworks for product adoption, customer success, and business growth.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, translating technical findings into clear, strategic recommendations.
  • Stay on top of emerging technologies in analytics, ML/AI, and cloud computing (familiarity with Snowflake and AWS SageMaker is a strong plus).
What you need…
  • 3–5 years of experience in data analytics or a closely related role, with a track record of delivering high-impact analytical work in complex business environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline — Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, etc.
  • Proficiency with scripting and querying languages (Python, R, SQL) and statistical software
  • Demonstrated experience leading analytical projects, from requirements gathering through stakeholder delivery and iteration.
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (ex: Sigma Computing, Tableau, etc).
  • Working knowledge of machine learning concepts and tools (AWS SageMaker or equivalent); experience collaborating with data scientists on model development and deployment is a plus.
  • Experience in SaaS, B2B software, or high-growth startups is a strong plus.
  • High EQ and an exceptional communicator — you work seamlessly across teams and can translate complex findings for both technical and executive audiences.
  • A self-starter with a bias toward action and a demeanor for growth and continuous learning — you take ownership, move quickly, and constantly raise the bar for yourself and the team.
  • A creative, resourceful problem solver who finds out-of-the-box approaches to complex challenges.
  • Proactive, curious, and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving instincts and a drive to make an impact.
What we offer…
  • Company sponsored Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • 401K, traditional, and Roth with a company match
  • Tuition Assistance or Tuition Reimbursement
  • Unlimited Paid Time off
  • Monthly Gym Reimbursement
  • Paid time off to volunteer
  • Paid Family Leave
  • Complimentary office lunches
  • Opportunity to grow
  • Opportunity to work with a great team committed to making a difference.
