Job description

Overview
The Contractor Program Security Officer will assist in overseeing and managing physical and operational security measures to safeguard personnel, facilities, and classified information within a highly sensitive intelligence community environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, agency, and local security regulations, identifying and mitigating threats, and maintaining a secure operational site. This role is hybrid onsite in Herndon, VA.
What will you do?
  • Site Security Management:
    • Support personnel security, physical security, document control, and classified networks.
    • Assist with building and maintaining classified secured areas.
    • Conduct regular security assessments and inspections of the tenant site to identify and address vulnerabilities.
    • Implement and enforce security protocols in accordance with intelligence community standards.
    • Manage access control systems, visitor management, and badging operations.
  • Threat Assessment & Response:
    • Monitor and assess potential physical and cyber threats to the facility and personnel.
    • Coordinate incident response plans and lead investigations into security breaches or suspicious activity.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain site-specific security plans (SSSPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Prepare and submit security reports, audits, and incident logs to appropriate authorities.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant security clearance requirements and training.
  • Facility Operations:
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of physical security measures, including barriers, surveillance systems, and alarm systems.
    • Manage the integration of new security technologies and systems as needed.

Do you have what it takes?
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in security or cybersecurity field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in security operations, physical security, or a related role within the intelligence or defense community.
  • Proven experience managing access control systems and conducting site inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of security regulations and standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in security technologies and software.
