Job description

SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, and within established policies and procedures, performs multi-modality computer-aided analysis research in medical imaging studies, developing and deploying advanced automatic analysis pipeline. This includes participation in ongoing funded projects and mentored research. This position is contingent upon grant-funding.

The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serving as the research associate for current medical imaging research projects, including but not limited to a study automatic analysis of imaging-based diagnosis.

Assisting Principal Investigators in the department with grant-writing. If desired, applicants may have an opportunity to pursue their own grants as Principal Investigator. Assisting with manuscript writing and preparation as a co-author.

Pursuing independent research if desired and opportunities arise. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BASIC KNOWLEDGE A PhD degree upon start date is required.

The doctorate degree should be in computer science, pattern recognition, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Experience writing manuscripts. A strong publication record on machine learning, computer vision, and/or medical imaging is required (full-length top journals and/or conferences papers).

EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 years' research experience in a related discipline. Experience managing research projects. Experience with grant writing is preferred.

Experience with coding in Python and MATLAB is required. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Opportunities for remote work can be considered. Sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to use computer keyboard and other common lab and office equipment.

INDEPENDENT ACTION Performs independently within department policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to supervisor where clarification of departmental policies and procedures may be required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Ability to train and work with volunteers and students on projects.
