PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Engineer CAD/CAM to join a premier aerospace and defense partner in Chandler, Arizona. Role Details
  • Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-month assignment)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday (9/80 schedule)
  • Location: Chandler, AZ 85286 (On-site)
  • Pay Rate: $54.49 per hour
  • Potential: Contract-to-hire opportunity (aligned with Design Engineer 3/4 career path)

What You’ll Do

As a CAD/CAM Engineer, you will:

  • Create and review detailed mechanical drawings and design packages ensuring full compliance with industry and military standards
  • Develop and validate 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX 2412 managed in Teamcenter
  • Perform fit, function, manufacturability, and tolerance analysis to optimize designs
  • Apply GD&T expertise to ensure drawings meet quality and production requirements
  • Generate and revise parametric drawings in accordance with ASME standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • Resolve technical drawing interpretation issues and support production readiness
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers on design and manufacturing requirements
  • Verify models submitted to manufacturing for accuracy and completeness
  • Support continuous improvement in design efficiency and documentation quality
  • Optionally contribute to team leadership or supervision, as needed

What You BringRequired Qualifications
  • 5–20 years of experience in CAD/CAM or mechanical design engineering
  • Strong proficiency in Siemens NX (preferably NX 2412) and Teamcenter
  • Deep understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Experience creating and reviewing detailed mechanical drawings and assemblies
  • Familiarity with ASME drawing and modeling standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Windows)
  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
     
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis and hardware fitment
  • Prior experience supporting production or manufacturing teams
  • Leadership or supervisory experience within engineering teams

Pay Details: $54.49 per hour
