Barista 

Arlington, VA |  Full-Time  |  In Person

Compensation: Paid training begins at $12.77/hour for your first few training shifts. After training, you’ll earn $12.00/hour plus tips, with guaranteed minimum earnings of $18.25/hour during barista shifts. Weekly tips often bring total earnings above this guaranteed minimum, and we offer structured hourly pay increases as you develop your skills and grow with us.

Coffee Quality Expertise 

  • Prepare espresso beverages, pour-overs, and brewed coffee to Commonwealth Joe standards.
  • Diagnoses and improves coffee quality through measurement and taste 
  • Regularly cups and tastes coffees to develop palate and expertise 
  • Help reduce waste while maintaining quality and consistency.

Customer Experience Expertise 

  • Create memorable customer experiences by anticipating guest needs.
  • Deliver exceptional hospitality with professionalism both on and off shift.
  • Build relationships with regular guests and help foster a welcoming community.
  • Maintain exceptional personal hygiene and professional appearance.

Inventory & Supplies 

  • Monitor inventory and restock cafe supplies as needed.
