Job description

Help shape the next generation of missionaries by serving as a Teaching Assistant in our Children Education Program.
We are seeking passionate Teaching Assistants for Preschool and School-Age classrooms. You will work alongside dedicated teachers to create a safe, loving, and engaging environment for missionary children (infants through high-school) during orientation and debriefing sessions.
Location: Rockville, VA (on-site at the IMB Children Education Center)
Commitment: Up to 33 weeks per year (as program schedules dictate)
Key Responsibilities
  • Support Classroom Teaching - Assist the lead teacher in one of the following areas: Preschool (0-5 years), School-Age (6-12 years) or Floater - provide coverage across multiple classrooms as needed
  • Foster a Safe, Welcoming Atmosphere - ensure every child feels valued, protected, and ready to learn.
  • Classroom Management - aid teachers in maintaining order, encouraging positive behavior, and implementing age-appropriate discipline.
  • Meal & Snack Assistance - supervise children during lunch and snack times, promoting healthy habits and fellowship.
  • Team Collaboration - communicate daily with teachers, coordinators, and other assistants to ensure smooth program flow.
