Middle School & Varsity Volleyball Coach

Location: Stuart Country Day School
Season: Fall 2026
Start Date: August 16, 2026
Compensation: $4,000 Stipend (Middle School) | Varsity stipend commensurate with experience
Schedule: Approximately 6 hours per week (Middle School)
Transportation Required: No

About the Role

Stuart Country Day School is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School and Varsity Volleyball Coaches to lead and develop student-athletes during the Fall 2026 season.

The Middle School Volleyball Coach will introduce players to the fundamentals of volleyball while creating a fun, encouraging, and development-focused environment. The Varsity Volleyball Coach will lead the high school program, focusing on player development, competitive excellence, teamwork, and preparing athletes for success throughout the season.

Whether coaching beginners or experienced athletes, successful candidates will be passionate about teaching the game, building confidence, and fostering a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, accountability, and personal growth.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead engaging, well-organized practices that develop individual skills and team concepts.
  • Teach volleyball fundamentals including serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, defensive positioning, and game strategy.
  • Prepare athletes for practices, matches, and postseason competition.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment where athletes feel encouraged to grow.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and leadership both on and off the court.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, and team activities while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, families, school administration, and the athletic department.
  • Uphold Stuart Country Day School's values and represent the program with professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications
  • Previous volleyball coaching or competitive playing experience preferred.
  • Experience working with middle school and/or high school athletes is a plus.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate athletes of varying skill levels while creating a positive learning environment.
  • Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, team systems, and player development.
  • Commitment to fostering character, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for athletics.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and meet school employment requirements.
