Job description

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

St. Benedict's is looking for an individual who have a background and known knowledge in cheering or pep squad. During our school year and as our sports programs are in session, we seek coaches who can assist with various teams of middle school students. These positions are only available for the sports seasons and are paid per the specific sport that is being coached. This position is not benefits eligible. This position starts August 17th and ends October 19th.

Head Pep Squad Coach - Fall


Below are the duties and responsibilities of the Head Pep Squad Coach for the Fall season:

  • Practice

    • Mid-August through late October

    • 1 day a week (typically Monday's 3:30pm - 4:45pm)

    • On campus

  • Games/Pep Rallies

    • 2-3 home Volleyball games and/or Pep rallies (games typically 4:30pm - 5:30pm) (Pep Rally typically on a Friday from 1pm - 2pm)

    • Required to travel to the home volleyball facility (A5 West Volleyball Club)

    • Must attend all performances

    • Can be Monday-Friday

  • Duties

    • Create practice plans to execute a productive, positive, and educational practice

    • Communicate with families for last-minute changes and reminders through Gamechanger during the season

    • Report to Athletic Directors for any behavior or concerns that arise during practices and or performances

    • Manage any equipment and emergency supplies during the season

    • If you can’t make it, you must communicate with your Athletic Directors in a timely manner

    • Take attendance at each practice and performance

    • First Aid and CPR

    • Safesport

    • Safeguarding

    • Background Check

  • Qualifications

    • Experience working with children, preferred age groups between 10-13 years old

    • Previous experience as a player, assistant coach, or volunteer preferred

    • Positive attitude, strong communication, ability to teach fundamentals and develop skills

    • Understanding of rules, safety, and sportsmanship

    • Ability to motivate and mentor middle school students

    • Reliable transportation
