Summary
We are seeking a commercially driven, technically credible sales leader to accelerate Power, Oil & Gas new business growth across North America while owning selected strategic accounts. This role develops early-stage opportunities, influences project specifications, builds executive-level customer relationships, and converts complex project pipelines into high-quality orders for Voith Turbo Industry. The position combines proactive business development, strategic account ownership, project pursuit leadership, and disciplined CRM / forecast governance across end users, OEMs, EPCs, licensors, consultants, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute proactive sales strategies for the Power, Oil & Gas markets across assigned North American territories as a key member of the Global Sales Team, focusing on high-value new business opportunities and strategic accounts. Define sales and technical positioning of Voith's engineered solutions portfolio including Geared Variable Speed Drives, Hydrodynamic Couplings, and Turbogears ensuring early engagement with end users, consultants, EPCs, and OEMs to secure specification acceptance, strengthen project opportunities, and maximize order conversion success.
  • Own strategic account plans, including account segmentation, stakeholder mapping, executive relationship development, opportunity roadmaps, share-of-wallet expansion, and coordinated global account alignment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, OEMs, EPCs, consultants, licensors, and channel partners to identify demand early, shape customer requirements, and position Voith as the preferred technical and commercial partner.
  • Secure Voith technology placement in project and customer specifications, approved vendor lists, frame agreements, and long-cycle capital project opportunities.
  • Lead and execute opportunity pursuit strategy from early project identification through bid/no-bid recommendation, pricing input, proposal alignment, negotiation support, and handover to execution teams.
  • Support growth initiatives in energy transformation markets, including hydrogen, CCUS, nuclear, electrification, retrofit / modernization, and other emerging industrial applications.
  • Drive CRM excellence by maintaining accurate account plans, opportunity stages, close dates, probabilities, next actions, customer visits, timely visit reports, and competitive intelligence in Salesforce or the applicable CRM system, ensuring full visibility, transparency, and effective follow-up of all customer interactions.
  • Contribute to business planning, rolling forecasts, and sales & operations planning with fact-based market intelligence, customer insights, funnel quality, and executable order intake assumptions.
  • As part of the Global Sales Organization, lead cross-functional collaboration with Application Engineering, Product Management, Service, Operations, Finance, and Legal to align commercial and technical strategies. Proactively drive the successful inclusion of Voith solutions in customer specifications and project concepts, acknowledging that these activities are critical to project development success, competitive positioning, and ultimately securing customer orders.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer investment plans, regulatory developments, and energy-transition drivers to identify attractive growth spaces and shape Voith's go-to-market approach.
  • Represent Voith professionally at customer workshops, industry events, conferences, exhibitions, technical presentations, and executive-level account meetings.
  • Operate with high transparency, ownership, and teamwork in a matrix organization, ensuring clear communication across regional and global stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field; equivalent technical / commercial experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive B2B industrial sales, business development, technical sales, key account management, or service-related commercial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell complex engineered products, systems, or services into industrial, power, oil & gas, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, or adjacent markets.
  • Proven experience building relationships with technical, procurement, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial discipline, including opportunity qualification, pricing input, contract negotiation support, margin awareness, and forecast ownership.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, project documentation, financial reports, and contractual / legal documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools; Salesforce, SAP, or similar enterprise systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across North America and internationally as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing key accounts, global accounts, EPC relationships and end users, focusing complex project-pursuit sales cycles.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, drive systems, turbomachinery, gearboxes, couplings, or related engineered solutions.
  • Experience with energy-transition applications such as hydrogen, CCUS, nuclear, electrification, and/or retrofit, modernization, and lifecycle service models.
  • Track record of improving CRM hygiene, forecast accuracy, pipeline quality, and structured account planning.
  • Comfort operating in a global matrix environment and leading without direct authority.
