Job description

SUMMARY: The Senior IT Field Technician provides on-site support for multiple locations throughout the Texas service area. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting end-user devices, printers, telecommunications equipment, network infrastructure, wireless connectivity, and system access. The role serves as the primary IT resource and works independently to deliver timely and effective technology support while ensuring compliance with organizational security and operational standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

End-User Support

  • Provide on-site support for desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
  • Prioritize and manage service requests to minimize operational disruption.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and asset information.

Hardware, Telecommunications Infrastructure

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, printers, multifunction devices, VoIP phones, and related equipment.
  • Deploy and support workstation imaging, software installations, upgrades, and equipment replacements.
  • Install, terminate, test, and document structured network cabling and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, warranty services, and vendor support as needed.
  • Conduct wireless site surveys and asses coverage, interference, and capacity for new and existing locations.

Access and Security Administration

  • Provision, modify, and deactivate user accounts in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other business systems.
  • Maintain user permissions, group memberships, shared mailboxes, and distribution lists.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes in accordance with company security standards.
  • Assist with access reviews, audits, and compliance-related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible IT support experience in field services, desktop support, or technical support environment.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 355 or Azure Active Directory certifications, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ITSM ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, ConnectWise or similar) preferred.
  • Familiarity with ITIL fundamentals and service-delivery best practices, strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-site or enterprise environment with distributed IT support.
  • Experience supporting Windows-based hardware, software, printers, telecommunications, and network-connected devices.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards and network infrastructure installation.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities across multiple locations.
  • Ability to travel extensively within territory, including occasional travel.
  • Valid driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, and the ability to travel independently throughout the service territory using reliable transportation.
