Job Title: Slimetender

Reporting to: Manager on Duty

Job Type: Hourly Non-Exempt; Availability to work nights and/or weekends, a must

ABOUT SLOOMOO

Sloomoo celebrates joy through an interactive experiential world, focused on slime, hands-on play, and all things #satisfying. Sloomoo launched in October of 2019 with an immersive 12,000 square-foot experience in Soho, NYC, where hand-crafted, artisanal slime (dozens of textures and the most delicious scents), soothing ASMR, and wondrous delights (you can slingshot slime, walk on slime, design your own slime, and more) converge with glossy, contemporary design.

Sloomoo’s universe has expanded - there are now a total of 5 Institutes (NYC, LA, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta) and two MiniMoos (Boston, Philadelphia) with more to come.

MiniMoos are smaller than the Institutes but packed with as much color, surprise, and play.

The brand has been featured in People Magazine, Vogue, the Today Show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, the Tamron Hall Show, Forbes, INC, and more.

The mission: Deliver joy, whether you’re a kid or kid-at-heart.

Position Summary

As a Slimetender at Sloomoo, you’re the face of the Sloomooverse - you’re the ones guests interact with. You’re an ambassador of the brand and a representation of the mission. You are influential in their experience and your role is to deliver a joyful, fun, and safe experience to our guests. While the slime is the star, you’re the one who makes the memories by showcasing slime tricks, engaging, bringing the energy, and meeting the guests where they are (some may be neurodiverse and looking for a calm moment, others may be over the top excited and ready to play).

This role involves greeting guests, truly interacting with all of the slime activities, managing guest flow, and ensuring the environment is clean and welcoming.

You will be key to upholding Sloomoo’s values:

1. Joy – Joy is our DNA. We spark wonder, play, and creativity in everything we do.

2. Accountability – We own it. Every action, every result—our name is on it.

3. Collaboration – Joy happens when we create together. We rise as one team.

4. Innovation – We push limits, dream big, and turn bold ideas into reality.

5. Inclusivity – Everyone belongs. Every voice matters.

6. Resilience – We pivot, solve, and grow stronger through every challenge.

7. Excellence – Good isn’t enough. We obsess over the details that make greatness.

Responsibilities:
  • Warmly welcome guests, offering an overview of activities, safety guidelines, and events, ensuring a seamless entry to an unforgettable experience.

  • Efficiently process admissions and manage reservations, maintaining a keen eye on room capacity and guest flow to ensure everyone has a great time.

  • Take charge of attractions, from slime-making workshops to interactive games and photo ops, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a personal touch to each interaction. Explain what they’re doing, based on the area you are overseeing - guide them to their stop along the Sloomoo journey.

  • Oversee the operation of each experience according to our high standards, ensuring policies and procedures are followed to provide a safe, efficient, and fun environment.

  • Scan and redeem tickets, ensuring a smooth transition for guests through various experiences while keeping an accurate count for room capacity.

  • Adhere to scripts and spiels for each station (they are all created to deliver joy and immerse guests in the Sloomoo world) to provide a consistent and high-quality guest experience, ensuring all interactions align with our brand standards.

  • Conduct occasional maintenance and cleaning of props and attractions, ensuring they meet design specifications and reporting any issues to management promptly.

  • Maintain cleanliness at all stations by picking up slime off the floor, cleaning the vats, and other areas are cleaned throughout shifts, contributing to a safe and inviting environment.

  • Uphold the Sloomoo brand integrity both within the experience space and in all external interactions, always serving as a brand ambassador.

  • Ensure safety is always prioritized, addressing, and logging any damages or repair needs, and conveying guest feedback and concerns to management.

  • Support your team members, contributing to a collaborative, positive working environment where everyone can thrive.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in hospitality, tourism, or a related field is a plus.

  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality, with a flair for creating memorable guest experiences.

  • Exceptional communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to engage with a diverse range of guests.

  • A proactive problem-solver with a positive attitude, able to handle situations with professionalism.

  • Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, ready to bring joy to our guests whenever needed.

  • A team player who is also capable of working independently, with a genuine passion for fun, creativity, and the Sloomoo brand.

  • Minimum age: 18 years.
