Job description

Harvey Vogel Manufacturing Co. has immediate openings for an experienced Press Brake Set-Up and Operator on 2nd shift.

  • Location: Woodbury (in person)
  • 2nd shift: Monโ€“Thu, 3:15pmโ€“1:45am
  • Pay: $24.00โ€“$32.00 per hour; competitive benefits package

Key requirements: 2โ€“3 years press brake setup/operator experience, ability to read prints, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

POSITION PURPOSE: To setup and operate brake press equipment in a safe manner, with focus on customer satisfaction and on time delivery.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Set-up and operate Cincinnati Brake Press machines using such materials as: stainless steel, cold rolled steel, and aluminum.
  • Set up and run complex bend/forming operations using standard and custom punch/die tooling, and verify first-piece quality before proceeding.
  • Ability to perform math, and measure part dimensions using a variety of instruments such as calipers, protractors, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, etc.
  • Ability to meet production rates.
  • Read prints, inspect parts (including critical dimensions), and complete inspection documentation.
  • Maintain calibrated tools.
  • Ability to stand and work in various positions for several hours at a time.
  • Identify areas for process improvement, cost, and waste reduction.
  • Must work in a safe manner following safety procedures.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • 2โ€“3 years of experience in brake press set-up and operation.
  • Strong work ethic and good attendance.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, and understand and follow verbal directions.
  • Must adhere to company safety requirements.
  • Proficient in shop math.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of proforma software a plus.
