Job description

Join Our Team and Make a Lasting Impact on Young Lives at Vogel!
Are you passionate about early childhood education and ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children? Vogel, a leader in providing high-quality care and education to families in need, is seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our team.
As a Teacher, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the educational growth and emotional well-being of young children, including those who may be experiencing trauma. You’ll collaborate with staff to create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment while ensuring adherence to Vogel’s high standards and regulations. If you’re committed to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom and have a heart for children and families, we’d love to hear from you!
This is a full-time salaried position with a salary range of $35,000 - $60,000 per year based on education and experience. Please note that this position may require assistance at our other locations as needed - Vogel Main, Vogel North and Vogel Redbird.
What we do
Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What you’ll do
  • Provide Exceptional Care: Ensure high-quality interactions and care for children, including diapering, feeding, and daily routines.
  • Create Learning Opportunities: Develop and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate lesson plans to support each child’s growth.
  • Foster Emotional Development: Utilize strategies like Conscious Discipline to promote positive behavior and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with Experts: Work with licensed therapists and specialists to support children with developmental delays and challenging behaviors.
  • Engage with Families: Conduct parent-teacher conferences, home visits, and maintain open communication with families to discuss each child’s progress.
  • Maintain Standards: Ensure compliance with NAEYC Standards, Head Start Performance Standards, and TX Minimum Standards to create a safe and nurturing classroom.
What will make you successful in this role (skills)
  • Required: Child Development Associates (CDA) credential
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in early childhood programs, preferably with children from low-income or homeless families
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse families
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and strategies like Conscious Discipline
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday – Friday, with flexibility during program hours (7 am – 6 pm)
  • Experience with NAEYC-accredited programs or Head Start/Early Head Start programs
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Why us?
Vogel is dedicated to providing top-notch early childhood programming for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, as well as their families, who have been affected by the traumatic effects of homelessness. By joining our team, you can play a pivotal role in positively impacting these children's lives during their crucial formative years. Together, we have the power to change their lives forever.
