Job description

Job Summary:
Technical Source is looking for an IT Systems Engineer to support the continued expansion of a large manufacturing campus in Clayton, NC. This role involves providing hands-on support for IT systems that enable daily manufacturing operations and combines operational support with project work.
Responsibilities:
• Install, troubleshoot, and support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for infrastructure systems and Windows-based virtual servers.
• Assist with server room and patch room buildouts.
• Support SAP and related interfaces, including issue identification and resolution.
• Partner with site personnel and corporate IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Support backup and recovery processes for manufacturing systems.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors and service providers to improve system reliability and performance.
• Provide occasional after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Approximately 5–8 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience supporting network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
• Experience administering Windows-based servers and virtual environments.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred:
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, beverage, or other regulated industries.
• Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, or GxP environments.
• Experience with VMware and network monitoring tools.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or operational technology systems.
