The VCF Design & Deploy Senior Consultant is a mission-critical, hands-on expert responsible for delivering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solutions within secure, enterprise-scale environments. This role bridges architecture and execution—bringing designs to life through deployment, integration, and optimization.

You will work directly with customer stakeholders across high-visibility DoD, federal, or regulated environments to implement scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead deployment and configuration of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments across multiple U.S. locations
  • Implement core technologies including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, SDDC Manager, and VMware Aria/vRA
  • Execute deployment runbooks aligned with architectural designs and VMware validated architectures
  • Configure and validate compute, storage, networking, and virtualization layers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and integration issues during deployment and post-deployment
  • Conduct environment assessments and provide recommendations for performance, scalability, and stability
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and execution accuracy
  • Produce high-quality documentation (as-builts, runbooks, procedures)
  • Support Day-1 and Day-2 operational readiness and knowledge transfer
  • Operate effectively in secure, mission-critical DoD, federal, or regulated environments

Required Skills
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware technologies (VCF, NSX-T, vSphere, vSAN, SDDC Manager)
  • Experience deploying enterprise virtualization or SDDC solutions
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing)
    • Storage technologies
    • Infrastructure integration
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer-facing consulting and communication skills
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (active)
  • VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • VMware certifications (VCP or higher in VCF, NSX, vSAN, vSphere)
  • Experience with automation and scripting (PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Exposure to VMware Kubernetes (VKS/TKG)
  • Experience with VMware Aria (Automation / Operations)
  • Background in lifecycle management, upgrades, and optimization
  • Experience supporting DoD, federal, or regulated environments

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or 7–10 years equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on VMware deployment experience
  • Proven delivery of end-to-end VCF or SDDC solutions
  • Strong depth across compute, storage, and network virtualization

Engagement Model

  • Project-based work supporting modernization and private cloud initiatives
